Ah, the deliciousness of summer lingers on, even as the days run out before school frenzy begins. Only one more week to enjoy the luxury of staying up late reading or knitting.
"So, what have you done with your summer?" you may ask. Well, I've read several good books, including The Wild Trees by Richard Preston, One Thousand Splendid Suns by Kahlil , and Leon Uris' QBVII. And, at long last, I have been persuaded to dive into the Harry Potter series. So, while throngs of people pour over the seventh and final book, I am reading the first one.
I knit myself a sweater vest. The pattern was a bit of a challenge, but once I got into it, it went along fine. I am proud of the results of this very time consuming project.
Many fun hours were spent with my grandchildren, and activities included a trip to Hogle Zoo, the Living Aquarium, the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point, the castle park, and Layton Surf and Swim. I relearned the joy of blowing bubbles and watching them waft on the breeze, flashing their irridescent colors.
